Not sure if this is the expected behavior or not, but we recently added two HomePod Mini's to our home (one in my office, one in our living room), and when I stream Spotify or Apple Music from my personal Mac or iPhone, it's showing up on the dynamic island for my wife's phone and she can control it. We're also seeing this when we use our Apple TV's.

What's weird is that it's only her phone that is displaying this behavior - not mine. We have two separate iCloud accounts although we're part of the same iCloud+ family network. If she's playing Apple Music or Spotify from any of her devices to a HomePod, I don't see anything on my dynamic island/lockscreen.

Any thoughts on what's causing this behavior?

I'd like to know this too.
I have a 13 and I see it.
#2 son has an 11 and he see it.
#1 son also has an 11 and he doesn't see it.

I've gone through the settings of each phone, setting by setting, and as far as I can tell, their identical. Obviously, something is different but I can't see it.

With a ton of searching I found a single thread on Reddit that has the same thing: https://www.reddit.com/r/HomePod/comments/qh1fj8
I made the change to the Apple Home setting as mentioned in the thread, but since my wife's phone is part of the same network & is a co-owner of the home network, it doesn't fix the issue.

Hopefully someone on here can help us.

I believe I found an answer, although it's not a great one if you're deep in the Apple ecosystem.

You'll need to do this on all of the iPhone's and iPad's in your home for it to be effective:

1. Open Settings -> General -> Airplay and Handoff
2. Switch "Automatically AirPlay to TV's" to "Ask".
3. Switch Handoff to off.

That appears to fix the problem but if you're a big Handoff user then you'll need to decide if this oddity/bug is bothersome enough to disable handoff for your phones/iPads.

I ended up going to Home Settings > Speakers & TV > Anyone On the Same Network > Require Password. I’m going to see how that work before switching to Only People Sharing This Home. My fiancé isn’t a user in the home app because he don’t use iCloud, but he have access to control the entertainment because he’s on the same wifi network.
