J jaynone macrumors member Jan 2, 2012 63 0 Jan 2, 2012 #2 XBMC is far more supported on ATV. My vote is for XBMC. Just turn on filesharing on your mac and away you go! Personally my fav is Firecore media player since it uses the native interface on the ATV. Its well worth the $29 price tag.

R Rddl macrumors newbie Jan 1, 2012 8 0 Jan 2, 2012 #3 I suggest you jailbreak and install XBMC Eden. It will do what you want and its design and UI (which is also customizable) rivals that of the Apple TV itself. Boxee is a solid alternative that but AFAIK, doesn't have an iOS version.
