Streaming wireless audio from iPad?

So I was wondering if it's possible to stream audio to wireless speakers from iPad, while still viewing content on the actual device. I asked some yahoo at the Apple store and he had no idea, instead showed me a demo of the remote app (which I already have...on my jailbroken unlocked 2g dinosaur lol) while I just smiled and nodded. I repeated my question and he was like "ummmm I don't think so." le sigh. Anyway...geeks! Is this possible? If not, why? And if so, HOW?! I don't even have one but the thought of having surround sound for your weensy little screen with streaming content is vewy vewy intewesting.

Not sure about existing speakers but I bought a couple of these inexpensive Bluetooth speakers from Best Buy that work really well.

Bluetooth speakers should do the job. No different than using a stereo Bluetooth headset (A2DP). I use a pair of Motorola ROKRs on both my MacBook and iPhone with no problem, don't expect any trouble with the iPad as well.

You might want to see if there are speakers that will pair with multiple devices. Many mono Bluetooth headsets now do this. I'm pretty sure the ROKRs support this, as I haven't had to re-pair them. 3 seems to be a popular number for this feature, but check if it supports 3 pairings, or just 2.

Otherwise, you'll have to repeatedly re-pair the speakers.

I think the insignia speakers are 2 connections. I have my iPhone and MacBook paired to one of them. Surprisingly good audio quality for the price. I went out and bought a second one after liking the first one so much.

I prefer wired speakers but doubt that I would use external speakers for my iPad anyway.

Excellent I'm glad this thread go started. I'm also looking at some external speakers but want something that is very portable...that can easily fit inside a computer bag or something similar. Are there any good foldable bluetooth speakers that would be good for the iPad? The more I think about the potential applications of this device in our business the more attractive the iPad becomes, although I'm still waiting for the damn thing to ship! (3G)

I want to do something similar to this. Instead of buying bluetooth speakers, however, I just want my iPad to play through my 27" iMac's speaker wirelessly. However, when I pair the iPad to my iMac, it will pair but won't actually connect or play audio. Is there a way to do this?

Here is an idea, not a perfect solution but I wonder. If someone has the Altec Lansing Backbeat 906 bluetooth headphones try plugging the bluetooth receiver into an airport express with the iPad linked up to that. Then use an iPhone/iPod with remote app for volume control of the airport express. I bet this is the only way to do it until the airport express could natively support this from a single device with an app other than remote.

Does the Bluelink Bluetooth Music Receiver work only for iTunes on the iPad? Or will you be able to hear the sound from Safari for sites like YouTube and Hulu as well on the iPad? I was hoping to be able to browse the net on the iPad and hear the sound from my home theater system via wireless.

So, other than the Bluelink Bluetooth Receiver, is there any way to listen to the audio output from an Ipad, whether from Youtube, Itunes or wherever, through an amplified, and wired receiver/speaker system? I currently have all my music on my Imac, and have an RCA cable running into a receiver. I would like to move toward a portable and streamlined solution like the Ipad and Bose system.

Also, I enjoy the precision of an external mouse when using selecting songs from my Itunes library on my Imac, are there any external mouse capabilities with an Ipad?
