For those of us that are married and understand the struggle of a wife that like watching terrible terrible TV shows.... but gets offended if you want to go do something in another room.... this is the perfect set up.

I can stream my XBox to the new iPad.... then switch the TV back to the input she was using.... app is called OneCast.

This witch craft is impossible we need more details. I just hooked up my Nintendo Switch to an Old Panasonic TCL32S1 1080p because it’s know to have 0-16ms input lag. Basically you can’t get better than that and got a PowerA wired controller on Black Friday $14.99 in preparation for Ultimate Super Smash Brothers.
I need to have No Input Lag.
And in this iPad Pro set up there has to be at least 70ms input lag.
From the Xbox One X to the OneCast via WiFi I am guessing the OneCast to The WiFi Router from the WiFi Router to the Omecast App and finally rendered. Not considering any delay from the wireless Xbox One X controller.
More testing is needed.

OP, what do you use for a controller? Can’t use the XBOX controller, right?

Thought this was an interesting idea for sure. So I bought it. Here's the first test I did. There was a stutter once, but otherwise, I was able to control the game just fine. Nothing twitch like gameplay, but for this platformer, it worked well. I'll test it with other games. Also, this was with Very High video quality settings within the app. Xbox One X is wired to my router. Using Netgear Nighthawk X6 on the 5GHz band. I'm using the Xbox One X Project Scorpio controller.

Here is the connection test:

Normal Xbox controller.

But there are optional touch controls that pop up on the screen if you’re without it.

I can even boot it up from the iPad if the Xbox is off.

Played some hitman tonight and still no lag that I can notice.

Honestly works pretty great.

Only problem is my wife still hates me playing even if the TV is freed up for her. 90 Day Fiancé is the worst program ever made. Ugh.

This looks very interesting!

Fascinated with the thought of playing my Xbox when not in the house. Have you tried playing when not on the home WiFi connection with the iPad?

Thank you so much for this! I went ahead yesterday and purchased the app so that I could use this feature. There are actually quite a few times that I want to play Madden or NBA 2K but its just not convenient to be in my "game room". I was very skeptical, however jumped in to try.

I was very pleased at how easy it was to setup. Initially I did not have the setting right to be able to stream to devices, so it didn't work. A quick trip to the game room and change to the proper setting and I was off and running. I live in a 3,500 sq' house that is a 2 story and I was successfully able to move anywhere in the house carrying my ipad pro and xbox one controller to play. (in the extreme corner of the house, where I will never play the game, I did lose connection to my controller) Very pleased, my son 15yrs old, even played a game and we both had no issues with lag at all.

Impressed with how quick it connects and gameplay seems very smooth, did not glitch or disconnect at all. (I am running ATT 50 Mbps internet).

The PS4 app connects way faster, but seems to have a little hiccup with the steady stream. Also, if I try and use the DS4 controller, it disconnects from the app. I think I might have to pair the controller with the iPad and not the console. Not sure yet, but I'm working on it. I have a 5 min short video showing the performance like I did with the Xbox One app.

It's also impossible to really play with the PS4 on screen controller. It doesn't seem to let you press face buttons at the same time, or in a rolling finger fashion. Same with the d-pad. I can't press right, and roll my finger over to the left directional. I have to lift my finger up from right dir and then press left dir. The only two options for controller or the on-screen or a MFi controller. The DS4 doesn't work for remote play.

Is this safe? I remember I tried this and it required you to log in through the app? Scares me.

Only works when connected to the home WiFi. No external streaming that I’m aware of.

Also, I play with my normal Xbox controller, but it’s not connected to the iPad, I’m still in the same room as the console.

So for me I’m basically playing on my couch same as I would play on the TV. I just wanted to free the TV’s screen so something else could be watched.

I just chose to design and build my own man cave/office/studio in the unfinished portion of our basement this summer. Hot wife, happy life.

Boom!

Yes.. that's what I want to do also.

Dream mancave = Full bar, wall of LED screens (sports bar style), billiards table, golf simulator, and massage chairs....... and of course, the obligatory entrance through a bookshelf hidden door.

If you've ever used the PS4 remote play app for OS X, you'll note that the controller has to be connected to the computer running the app, not the PS4. That means remote play on an iPad likely won't work very well unless you can figure out how to connect to it via USB.

Hah, I almost did the bookshelf hidden door. Originally it was going to be two rooms, and there was only one door into the space, so I was going to have an office with hidden door and an extra guest bedroom. Instead we did a small guest bed nook behind a 5x5 IKEA Kallax shelf, and I don’t really drink, so it’s just a creativity space with a photo studio, my large desk with Mac and Xbox One X, painting supplies and canvas, some weights and exercise bike. Wish I had a big TV and massage chair down there though! Need a new TV upstairs first.
