Struggling to unlock original iphone on 3.1.2 software. Tried a shop also

I unlocked this phone before but have restored it and upgraded it to 3.1.2 firmware now.

I have tried several times to follow advice on these boards with searches i have found but have been unsuccessful.

First time i used redsnow & it was fine.
isnt working this time, seems to fail when i get to the last bit, on the computer it looks like its all down but on the iphone its still showing jailbreaking screen etc but then goes to waiting for activation or something.

Im returning my current phone which i hate & need to get this unlocked this afternoon or else im without a phone.

Any help is appreciate but can you tell me step by step instructions?

I have the 3.1.2 firmware all ready in a desktop file & the Bl? 3.9 & 4. something

I tried to follow a blackrain?? unlocking process but never got anywhere as i couldnt get past the utorrent opening of a thing??

See i really dont know all the tech words so take that into consideration!!! LOL:confused:

The title says you have the original iPhone. Bootneuter will unlock it. You need Blackra1n to jailbreak it first.

Sorry I missed that.

OP: You have two options:

First, as SpaceKitty says, you can jailbreak using blackra1n. When finished, open up the new blackra1n app on your phone and use it to install Cydia. When Cydia is installed, use it to install BootNeuter. Open BootNeuter and unlock your phone. There are tutorials on the web.

The other option (and the one I would recommend) is to use Redsn0w 0.9 beta3, which should both jailbreak and unlock your phone in one step.

I have tried Blacksnow option but wasnt sure if it had completed right. Anyway, i put in my orange sim(was an o2 phone) and it shows bars and tells me messages but its like on emergency and flashes up with all the languages.
 
I used Pwnage Tool to unlock and jb an original iPhone with the 3.1.2 firmware. Had no problems after I downloaded and used this ispw:
iPhone1,1_3.1_7C144_Restore.ipsw
