Well, this isn't looking good...

I just installed AppFlow via AFP, changed the permissions via Squid, and simply turned my phone off and back on again. Now I'm looking at a black screen with the Apple logo on it.

It's acting weird though, which is what makes me think there may be a way of saving it. It will sit at the Apple for a while... then the screen will go black... then the Apple will come back up and the spinning wheel is then spinning on top of the Apple. It eventually goes black again and repeats the process.

Another weird thing is that if I connect it to my computer, iTunes/iPhoto recognize it as working normal. I just synced my photos and it worked fine. Should I go ahead and sync the iPhone in case I do need to restore it? I don't want to try syncing it, run into problems, and lose the last "good" sync I have.

Any tips for me?? The sooner the better... this is my only phone!

Thanks!

Since I never got any responses... I'm just restoring.

...now to spend a bunch of time reinstalling/customizing

I'd guess probably around 30-40.

Some new problems I've encountered after restoring and jailbreaking via ZiPhone:

First thing... my email no longer works. I tap the mail icon... it starts loading... then takes me back to my home screen. (Perhaps an issue with relocating the apps via BossTool? I'd done this in the past though and didn't have any problems.)

Second thing... I can no longer add web clips!! When I try, it says "Could not add this page to the Home screen because an error occurred."

Third thing... it doesn't seem to want to finish syncing. It seems to sync everything... it just never actually ends the sync. It just... sits there... for a really long time.

Overall, my iPhone just seems to be running like total garbage. It was working perfectly until last night and I figured restoring it and using ZiPhone would be the best fix. Now, I just have different problems.

I have a 1.1.3 jailbroke with Ziphone 2.4. Today I tried to install an app, forgot which one. Well, I got the famous apple/spinning wheel. I turned it off and on, held down the sleep/wake button, held down the home button, held down both; nothing! So I restored, and everything is back to normal, not jailbroken though. I still have all my contacts in there after restoring, and now I'm syncing photos/music/ringtones. I want all those apps, but I don't want to have to jailbreak again and deal with this crap again. Guess I'll stay unjailbroke for a while.:(

I'm actually doing the same thing and will be remaining unjailbroken for a while. I can't sacrifice the primary functions of the phone for the 3rd party "toys".

UPDATE: To fix the rest of my problems, rather than restoring the backup of my iPhone, I just made a new account for it on my computer and am re-setting things up again. It all seems to be working okay now.
