Yesterday I had a LOT of kernel panics. Today my Mac worked fine, but when I restarted it, it had a loading bar under the spinning grey wheel. After that, it just stays on the spinning wheel, loading. I can hear the HDD move, and the boot chime. What's happening?

When you are having troubles, MacRumors is a great place to ask for advice but in order for people to help you, they will want to know some basic things. First of all, which Mac min do you have? Also it is important to know what version of OS X you are running.
Secondly what have you tried? Have you tried booting from a DVD (if you are using Snow Leopard or before)? Do you have a bootable backup disk? If so, have you tried booting from it and running Disk Utility or running a program like Disk Warrior? Posting these things in your original post will help to speed things up and might also make people more interested in helping. Think of it like this, if you called a mechanic and you said, "My car starts but it won't move" what is the first thing they would ask? Probably what is the make, model, and year? Computers are the same way.

I have a mid-2011 iMac and the grey screen, loading bar, spinning wheel happened to me for the first time a few days ago.
I googled it (and this will seem like a weird solution) but my issue was a bluetooth nature. I'd changed the batteries in my keyboard & mouse the previous night and they were both turned off when I tried rebooting the following morning. THIS caused the grey screen and long wait booting up.
So before doing anything drastic just yet, check your mouse & keyboard. If you google Apple support forums, some peoples' problems were fixed by turning OFF one BT device, but I never had that, it only happened when both were off.
