after i update my original iphone from 1.1.4 to 2.0.1 using iTunes, i found out that its the wrong way to unlock, because i thought thats the usual steps using ziphone to unlock. but i found out to use PwnageTool i have to download firmware for the original iphone which is iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore. so i tried to use pwnage after i download iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore, everything worked fine except when the Pwnage asked me to enter DFU mode i think it keep failing, pressing home and power buttons at the same time for 10sec after switching the phone off, then the home button alone for 10 sec.
anyhow, i thought the only way to fix this mess is to restore 1.1.4 again and do it right is time. so i tried this trick, which is to download iTunes 7.5 and to choice restore 1.1.4 by clicking restore while pressing alt, when restore i keep getting error. and i see that my iphone is stuck in the recovery mode and even when i turn it off i dont get the sliding button. sorry for this big confusing story but i cant do anything i feel i lost my iphone, any help would be very appreciated.
thanks

i were able to fix the problem. and do all the Pwnage tool steps until i got the successful message. and i got the pineapple logo but still didnt unlock it. any ideas, thanks.

how did you solve the problem?

i have the same problem. can you please tell me how you solved it?
many thanx in advance

i will be glad to help, but what you are facing? if part two of my problem, which is when using pwnagetool and doing everything scessfully the iphone still locked. if so, the way i solved it is, instead of using the simple mode use the expert mode. and in the expert mode first step, choice iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw (for the original iphone, and iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw for G3 one) . then next step there is options before you click on the build button. in the general setting i kept the check on the "activate the phone" and unchecked "disable partition wipe-out" option. thats all what i did, despite ppl say simple and expert mode are the same, the simple mode didnt work with me. so try expert mode and let me know.
i wish it work, good luck
