Welp. Had a 13 pro on verizon. Got the 16 pro direct from apple and the plan was supposed to automatically transfer over. Verizon got half of that right: according to my verizon account, the new phone is on the plan, and according to the old phone, the service has been transferred. The old phone no longer has a line, and, critically, can no longer get SMS messages.
However, the new phone doesn't know the account exists (and yes, I've tried resetting it. Also, it's been 5 hours). Instead, it asks me to set up service by entering my phone number and my zip code. And then... it asks me to enter a verification code... sent from verizon... by SMS. LOLSOB.
And so here I am at the verizon store. Since, obviously, I can't call them for technical support as I CAN'T CALL *ANYONE*. They say that the wait is an hour. The store is closed in an hour.
Maybe I'll just go buy an android at the tmobile shop down the road and then dispute all the charges with my credit card, since clearly someone isn't providing the paid-for services.
