Stuck key somewhere.qqqqqq

My iMac all of a sudden started acting strange. When I'm in Safari the letter "q" starts appearing across the search bar like I hit q and it kept on repeating like I was holding down the letter. I'm having other issues like my bookmarks scrolling down half way. when I scroll it back to the top it scrolls down again. all of this is done on it's own.
Any help would be appreciated.

turn off your keyboard and clean it.

Do you by chance have a second keyboard you use. Which you may have left connected accidentally?

If your iMac keyboard's like mine then it'll have a little power switch on the back by the F19 key. Next time the issue occurs, switch it off and see whether the issue goes away: that'll narrow down whether the issue is with the physical keyboard or not.
