I have tried every tip on the internet to fix this issue but on my 2nd Gen iPad Pro the only way to install the update is via the laptop as it stalls every time at Verifying Update.

Has anyone got a viable fix for this issue? Even tried setting it up as new.

I've got the same issue on my 2nd gen 12 inch iPad Pro. Had this issue for the past few betas too. None of the usual methods work to fix.

Thank god this isn’t just me! I’ve had this issue for the last two betas, the release version and now 15.1 beta. I’ve tried everything, even a clean install from recovery mode. Then as soon as I try updating it gets stuck again.

I’ve been able to get the updates installed by downloading the ispw and then installing it from my Mac in DFU mode, but the issue comes back when the following update comes out

This is my issue too. Doing an update via a manually downloaded ispw doesn't work either, has to be DFU and restore. Such a pain!

Same here. Did a fresh install of iPadOS15 to get rid of the issue but now with 15.0.1 again it is stuck on Verifying Update... So strange. :-(

Done the same this morning to see if there was some errant app causing the issue. Still stuck on verifying update.

This is really poor.

Software verification process is Apple server based and can take a while. Shouldn't be more than 15 minute, 20 tops. I would give it 30 and go do something else. If its taking hours then try again later...

However being the integrity of the software is being checked via Apple servers....

Make sure the device is plugged in with strong wifi connection. Make sure something else is completely saturating your network like 4k Netflix in multiple rooms or updating 10 Apple devices at the same time.

Make sure you aren't using a VPN (it will work however its not doing you any favors for this task)

Close all other process. Reset the device.

Delete the iOS update and redownload it.

Try again later. A single drop in the network between your iPhone and Apple and that verification will likely fail.

Where I live Wifi channels can get spotty, if I'm doing a mission critical task I'll power cycle the router so it connects to a channel with the least amount of people.

Use iTunes from a Mac/PC.

Hopefully by the time you guys read this its from an updated iOS device.

Done all of the above and it has (in the past been verifying for 24 hours without completing.)

I apologize I think I misread your original post. Are you saying your iPad will update however the only way is via iTunes (now finder)? If you use OTA its freezes at verification?

If so I read your post wrong, I tried doing and update via Finder on my iPad Air 2 and I got an Error 9 and soft bricked it. Its in the process of restoring but its in a infinite boot loop.... 😂🤣😂🤣

Apple....I do not need help wasting my time...perfectly capable of wasting my own time thank you.

The DFU update from the ISPW file is the only way that updates work. Same issue with the 15.1 beta.

iPad Pro 10.5 with cellular here….had the same issue…..reset all settings +using cellular instead of wifi fixed it for me

Good catch but not really an option on an iPad unless you have a cellular one.

I will try it later though as the one I have is cellular just need to put the sim out of mine into the wife’s.

Amazing, turning off Wi-Fi and using cellular worked.
