I did a "Reset all content and settings" today and it said it'd take about an hour. Over an hour after I did it, I look at the phone and the screen is stuck at the pineapple screen. Sometimes you see the loading (spinning) animation and sometimes its not there. So I tried to do a soft reset and that doesn't do anything.

I've also tried to hook up the phone to the computer, open up itunes but the computer doesn't read the phone connection. Anyways, I still tried to force the DFU mode by holding down on both buttons till the screen goes blank, then releasing the power key. I wait and wait and nothing comes up so I let go of the home button and press the power and its back to being stuck at the pineapple screen. And every once in a while, it blinks.

I'm really hoping this isn't the end of my iphone. PLEASE HELP!!

Try the DFU mode that you tried again, then when you let go of the power button (Once the "Pineapple" comes), and the screen shuts off, connect it to iTunes.

I can almost guarantee you that iTunes will see the phone.

DFU mode is when the screen is completely blank.

When you went to Erase all content, it erased the Operating System, so don't be surprised when you don't get a Operating System when you start.

I'm sorry. That seems a bit confusing to me. Can you provide me a step by step?

So try to get to the DFU mode again by letting go of the power button once the pineapple comes on? The pineapple is on already. Then when I apply both buttons, the screen blanks and returns.

I'm starting to confuse myself lol
If you could provide me a step by step, it would be greatly appreciated.

hook it up to pwnage tool and click DFU mode and it should kick it in.

Here's a good video illustrating how to do it:

Good luck. It should work.

I downloaded pwnage tool 2.2.5 and clicked on the dfu mode but its currently been loading up for the last 5 minutes with nothing...

Well, if you're on a Mac on 10.5.6, there is a problem with DFU mode that you can correct by connecting the iPhone via a powered USB hub.

Search the forum for 10.5.6 and DFU mode for more info.
