Got my 15" MBP's display changed cause of some debris inside the screen and the replacment had a single stuck pixel near the bottom right. :( I guess it isn't really noticable on my background etc. (appears black on red, so I'm guessing the red part of that transistor died or something?) but it gets kinda irritating at first. Tried running those pixel thingys and massaging it but its still stuck/dead.

So....should I sell the MBP and buy a new one or should I just buy a 20" ACD and run it in closed lid mode? And how much do you think a 3 month old MBP with a stuck pixel can fetch? The 2.0Ghz default configuration with 128MB VRAM.

Its just one dead pixel, I had 2 in my iMac G5 and they never bothered me at all. I can't belive that your willing to pay like 500+ bucks on a ACD just because theres 1 stuck pixel in your macbook.

How can something like this bother you if it only annoys when you fixate on it? It's in the bottom right corner ffs! What do you have down there that needs so much attention? I could understand it if was up in the menubar but this is ridicoulus.

My friend's macbook has two dark corners in the bottom, and it's NOT noticeable, only in the beginning.

To be fair to the OP having a stuck pixel anywhere would drive me crazy too. I'm one of those lunatics who believes an LCD should be flawless.

Maybe you could find someone really lovely at an Apple store and plead your case to them? ACD's are yum though, you could do worse.

My macbook has 1 dead pixel.. its black. At first i hated cause it was all " Oh snap, i have a dead pixel noooooooooooo"
Then i noticed its really small, in a place i normal dont look for more then a glance, and its black so it blends in with everything and besides, i have dust on the screen that is worse and i dont care.. i mean i love my macbook, but 1 dead pixel is nothing, have a funeral and get on with the computing!

has any been successful w/ getting a replacement for one or two dead pixels?

I was successful. They tried to tell me know but I told them I was a graphics designer and needed exact precision on my screen. Having a dead (or stuck) pixel created issues for me in my work. Mine was more centered tho. They let me exchange after I called applecare and talked to a manager.

I had this issue soooo many times I can't even count. Just had 3 dead on my Core2Duo iMac so I returned it and built a PC with a 20" samsung monitor. I may get a macpro down the road if the price comes down a bit.

Edited for the spelling of precision ;)

Find the smallest set of tweezers you can...

and rip out that crappy little pixel. Put it under your pillow and in the morning you'll have a bright shiney new one from the pixel fairy. I did that once but got a wicked rash from the "pixel" dust she left behind. WOW I'm funny.:)

My MBP used to have a stuck pixel. I fixed it my 'massaging' it using my nails, and it came back on! That pixel has not given me a problem ever since, and certainly hope it will stay that way.

Well, it is a stuck pixel. I am not sure if it differs from a 'dead pixel', although in both situations there is an annoying pixel refusing to keep up with the rest.

Anyone else tried this and got it (or them, for those with more than one dead pixel) to work again too?
