Is there any discount off of Apple Care or One on One?

What about Office?


Also - we are all thinking the free ipod should be the end of this month - August, right? And you should be able to get Lion (with an upgrade discount) after early June?
...So it's best to hold off buying any iMac til Mid June...is this the consensus?

Student discount brings apple care for a new imac to 119$ but I don't know about one to one.

They have done a back to school special every year for quite a long time, but I still went ahead and got one now. I already have an iPhone, and the way Apple doesn't do price drops, I always feel the best time to buy a new apple product is right at launch. Every time after you pay the same price but you lost time with it being "the best".

Good point! I just enjoy any extra freebies I can get. Plus I would like to at least have a chance to spend less on Lion, without having to wait forever for it to be pre-loaded.

I'm assuming everyone considers Apple Care to be "worth it"?

I got my MBP the summer before shipping off to school and of course got Apple Care...never took it in to the store. If you plan to take care of your equipment there shouldn't be a problem. It's a desktop and if it's still hustling at the end of a year it has probably proven itself as a non-lemon. That being said, you can extend Apple Care within the first year IIRC.

Getting a new, free ipod would be nice but for many we already have devices (probably Apple ones) for our music. Getting Lion would be nice but I'm sure I'll figure out a way to get it.

The One To One service is $99 regardless. I'm going to wait until after the WWDC on June 6th to make a purchase to see when Lion will be available. My plan is to get the free iPod and resale it to recoup some of the almost three grand for the iMac and assessories that I want.
