Hi,
I’m a student currently studying product and packaging design. I am currently in the market research stage of my course.
My chosen 'unique idea' is a first-time shaving kit as it is to my knowledge, not currently in the UK market.
I need help with what people currently like about the shaving market, and the imagery associated with it.
Please can you help me by answering the following questionnaire.
Thank you,
Hector Domingo

Questionnaire:

1) When you think about the shaver market, what brand immediately springs to mind?
2) What about this brand attracts you to it?
3) What are you looking for specifically in a shaver?
4) What is the most that you are prepared to pay for a shaver?
5) Do you use any products when shaving?
6) Is using a shaver comfortable
7) What aspects of packaging attract you
8) Are you more likely to buy a shaver if the packaging is environmentally friendly?

Have you got any additional comments/advice?

Question 7 is a good one to ask here and possibly 8 (at least for me). The bulk of this would serve you best as an in person questionnaire to people on the street. Face to face is the most important, an often most difficult, aspect of marketing.

1) Gillette
2) Name recognition. I hate to shave.
3) Low-impact bladed razor. No 5 blade electric gizmo.
4) $10 USD.
5) High quality shaving cream. (Nivea)
6) Not what I would call "comfortable", acceptable.
7) Something that displays the product clearly with color and good use of typography. Size in important. I must be easy to handle and examine. The back should not be an afterthought, and should be a continuation of the design theme developed on the front. Facts and blade compatibility need to be is clean readable fonts 10 point or up.
8) Yes. I hate the over use of heavy plastic in packaging. It makes it difficult to open and adds material that is hard to decompose to the landfill.

1) When you think about the shaver market, what brand immediately springs to mind? Gillette

2) What about this brand attracts you to it? They probably have the most adverts, but that translates into sales for them, its the only brand i've ever bought.

3) What are you looking for specifically in a shaver? Quick, easy, and one that doesn't make a mess of my face.

4) What is the most that you are prepared to pay for a shaver? £10

5) Do you use any products when shaving? Shaving gel / Moisturiser

6) Is using a shaver comfortable? I don;t do it enough so its always quite a struggle.

7) What aspects of packaging attract you? One thats easy to get into.

8) Are you more likely to buy a shaver if the packaging is environmentally friendly? Yes
