The Studio display has a built in A13 processor and 64gb of storage what are the chances of someone turning a studio display into an unofficial 27” iMac. Can it be hacked to turn it into a computer?

Based on what we have seen in the iFixit tear down photos, there does not appear to be hardware inside the display that would support real computer functionality like that.

Well I saw what could be done with an Apple TV and postulated that someone smarter than me might be able to get it to work.

What has been done with an Apple TV? I don't believe anyone has ever successfully hacked the newer AX based Apple TVs to run Mac OS. I have a first-generation Apple TV, running an Intel chip, which I hacked to run Mac OS 10.5 poorly. But that was over 10 years ago now.

It's got a CPU and an OS and can draw to the display when it boots. What else is missing? A method to get input - it doesn't have WiFi or Bluetooth so it needs USB access. It has USB ports and a Thunderbolt port but I don't know if they can be used by the CPU for USB input devices.
