Just wanted to vent and ask for advice.
I purchased my Studio3 in Jan 2019. They worked well until one of the hinges broke in Sept 2019. Apple gave me new units after some talking with the Genius Bar. Now, the covers which house the electronics split open and so I took them into the Genius Bar to see if they'll honor the year warranty. The person said no because Apple only extends the original warranty from the original purchase date instead of onto the new replacement unit. I was shocked to hear that.
They wanted $200 to replace something that has broken TWICE on me in two years. Why would I throw my money away if it won't even last a year? And no, these were not dropped or carelessly taken care of. Both times, I was opening them up from being closed and it happened then.
Is there any way to fight with Apple to take ownership of their shoddy build quality, or is it a lost cause? Thanks in advance~
