So I was trying to get my friend to buy a mac. And I tell him how I could download like all the porn I want and not get a single virus (hehe). So He goes that's not because you have a mac, it's because the mac doesn't it detect it or I'm lucky. So I tell him to send me a windows virus to show him how windows viruses don't effect a mac. So he sends me a zip of some program called Guitar Pro 5 and I try to unzip it but I just keep clicking on it and it does the stuffit unarchiver thing but there is no folder for it and now I'm paranoid that I have a virus. He says the virus he sent me is Win32.VB-IE (yes I do see the Win32). But I'm paranoid as to why it didn't unarchive.

It simply won't run on a Mac. Different way of using the processor. Anyway, you definitly do not have a virus. Well, you have one but it's not running and it never will.

i guess the virus works on the win32 zip format (the unzipper in windows). this means that it exploits some windows zip problem? in that case stuffit will recognize the zip as being invalid, and cant open it. stuffit is onnoying because it never gives errors when it fails to unpack something

You definitely do not have a virus. In order for you to get the virus you would have to execute the EXE file, which you can't on a Mac.

I think the next Mac vs. PC commercial could go something like this:

PC: Hello, I'm a PC
Mac: And I'm a Mac
PC: So, what were you up to the past hour?
Mac: Downloading some porn, and, ehh, you know ;)
PC: Really? I can't download porn.
Mac: Why?
PC: I'll get a virus
Mac: That's terrible. You run the risk of getting a nasty virus from real intercourse and from doing it yourself. What a shame. Being a PC must suck.
PC: Don't say "suck." It's getting me turned on and I can't do anything about it.
Mac: Well, sorry. I think I'm going to go download some more porn.
