there
Not that much battery, there is an energy saver setting on the system preference panel that can adjust the time lit, or not at all
I need that backlit feature so i can type better somehow, as does other notebook users.

The backlit keyboard uses significantly less battery than the backlight on the screen, which is why many Mac users keep screen brightness at or slightly below 50%. You can also go into the Keyboard settings and set the keyboard backlight to automatically turn off after 5 seconds of inactivity.

Turn off this in keyboard settings to save more battery life.
