Hi, brand new to the forum, after advice - I am having an app developed and tested by a third party developer - I would like to submit the finished product to itunes app store - however dont have a MAC (work on windows 7) to download the developer program which i believe i need to submit it? Im not doing any programming or testing as the developer i have will do it - i just want to submit and distribute it - Is there any way around this?

Cheers.

The SDK requires a Mac (MAC is a make-up brand and an acronym for Media Access Control) running Snow Leopard.

It won't run on Windows, you need a Mac.

All of this is true. But none of it actually answers the question. Technically to upload a binary which is already signed with a distribution key all you need is a web browser and a login to iTunes Connect.

Of course if the OP has not given his distribution key to the developer, or has not yet paid the $99 to Apple to get access to the full developer program, none of that matters.

OP: please clarify. What, exactly, are you getting from the developer?

I have a developer who will do the

UI and framework design
Code and test for all the functions
Integration and test

1 framework design
1.1 loading and splash screen
1.2 UI design and location(coding)
1.3 business logic design
1.4 UI confirm and rework

2 function implement
2.1 easily password protect your confidential messages
2.2 A watchlist is required
2.3 Background Monitor
2.4 keep to the Archived folder
2.5 other functions
2.6 testing and rework

3 Integration and test
3.1 beta publish and confirm
3.2 testing and rework

Basically a working app, that will be ready for submission. I havent paid the $99 as of yet, as i wanted to find out if i had it made that i would be able to submit it in the first place without a MAC? All i want to do it submit the working app...

Yeah thats kind of what i was expecting, so absolutely no way of submitting the app to itunes that has been developed on a mac and sent to me (on windows) I cant just forward on the necessary files? Forgive me - complete novice!

Read my reply above. Assuming you have a paid-up developer account log into developer.apple.com/iphone and click on iTunes Connect on the right. You can upload the signed, compressed binary from the developer. This is only valid if the binary is signed with a distribution key. If you do not have a paid-up developer account you cannot submit to the store regardless of the OS you are running on.

Ok, sounds promising, so basically i can get and pay for the app developer program $99 (£59) and apple gives me a distributer key - which i pass on to the developer - i then receive the completed app from the developer and am able to upload to itunes - through windows
