so safari keeps crashing but besides that, is there a point in submitting a crash report to apple?
what will they do?
should i submit or just ignore it?

They won't do much. The crash report sends them the crash logs and maybe a message from you saying what you were doing at the time. They might look at this and IF they find that the crash was do to a major bug (as opposed to corrupted file/third party app interaction) they will try and fix it for the next version of Safari.

I think its a good idea to send them. I imagine they go into a database that identifies repeated or widespread issues. The more data they have, the more likely they'll have an accurate idea of Safari problems. Its probably not a big deal, but I usually send them.
