I have tried to encode Lust, Caution three times. The film is like 85% Cantonese. The first time I didn't select anything in the subtitles menu, the second time I chose english, and the third time I chose autoselect/forced subtitles. I really want to encode this film and I have several other foreign films I want to add to my apple tv. I've searched all the threads and can't find the solution.

When I ripped the film with MTR I used the main feature extraction function. If I use Front Row accompanied with DVD Assist, I can see the title menu and choose the correct subtitles. I would love to be able to watch this movie through ATV. If I watch it through Front Row, I have to hook my laptop up to the TV.

I would like to try one more time. Any suggestions?

Usually Forced Subs is all you need for foreign...I would imagine the subtitle track maybe is not being copied from you MTR extraction. Just encode straight from the DVD within Handbrake...maybe that will fix it.
