I was watching a ripped version of The DaVinci code this weekend, and noticed that during the parts where the french police were talking to eachother (in French), there was no english translation. I didn't think this part of the movie would be included in the 'subtitles', but I must be wrong.

How do I get the subtitles for movies like this when there are only a very select few parts which require it? I don't want the entire movie to have closed captioning... just the text which was in the original movie.

Thanks for the help!

If you are using Handbrake, you check forced subtitles only. This apparently works if there is something like less than 10% of the movie with subtitles.

This sounds like the ticket... thanks for the help!

I routinely check forced subtitles/English because who remembers if a movie has 1 scene with subtitles. But if the movie is all subtitles (eg Apocalypto) then forced subtitles doesn't work and you need to uncheck it and choose the subtitle language or set it to autoselect.
