so i went into the Trusty Rogers store at the local mall and talked to a CSR about my phone problems. I was given a tech support number to which the CSR said if the problem could not be solved via phone call they will replace it free of charge.

so i am supposed to recieve a new phone within 3-5 business days, i then have 15 days to send my phone in. The catch is that if they find water or accidental damage then i have to pay for the refurbished phone.

my phone being a iphone 3GS.

i am taking a gamble though because i work as a landscaper so moisture is kind of unavoidable and... i run the risk of losing a safe jailbreak.\

if your phone is always exposed to moisture then you should be investing into a good case, much cheaper then paying for new phones

well i keep the phone in my pocket and when it rains i have rain gear on.

these problems were there from the get go

yes but if it comes back at u that the water sensors were set off, you wll be denied. So if that happens, i suggest investin in a wateproof case that you can put on while at work. they do make them.

yes well i will fight them over the water damage if they call it water damage.
water might get in the headphonejack or the dock connector but not in the actual phone itself, that much i can gaurantee.

Unfortunately that's where the censor is (I think) and if it's gone off and they catch it, there's a chance they won't replace it.

***UPDATE***

ok so i have recieved my new phone everything is in working order, the problems i had with the old phone are non exsistent.

i just now have to send in my other phone, after i get stuff of it and DFU restore to factory.

then ill send it off and we will see whether i will be paying for a new phone or not.

sent my phone in halfwy through january its now just under mid february and nothing has shown up on my bill, so i believe there was no accidental damage with the iphone and i now have a new iphone courtesy of rogers.

Quick question, i have noticed that my iphone is getting really warm with exstensive use. Is this normal?

Depends on what you're doing.

The 3G radio puts off a lot of heat. If you're browsing the web, watching YouTube or anything else that uses 3G it will get quite warm. Same goes with the GPS. Playing graphics intensive games that tax the processor will have the same effect.

If you're listening to the iPod it shouldn't get warm.
