All right I have some stuff behind my 27 inch iMac screen and it's a 2 hour drive to the Apple store and I was wondering if I could remove the glass myself like this photo?

I also have a oreck air filter that removes dust in my room so I don't have to worry about more dust getting inside when I open it. But I was just wondering if the glass is heavy or if it would be a breeze to remove?

I seen the video a long time ago but that is the 24 inch and I was wondering if it is diff. on the 27 inch.

Also does this void it?

There's some dust specs behind the screen....

What makes it void? if i take the glass off myself?

That's not what Apple told me. They said that if you preform the unsupported upgrade it does not void the warranty, but if you break something while doing this, then the warranty is broken.

That is correct, but to be a little more specific the unsupported upgrade itself is not under the warranty. ie- if you change the hard drive and don't damage anything the computer is still under warranty, but the hard drive itself is not, only the OEM shipping hard drive is.

...on the iMacs, RAM is user swappable, I don't believe they consider anything else to be swappable by the user so if you break something they will probably say its voided...

So if I take off the glass to clean the screen its voided?

...no, as I stated, if you take off the glass to clean the screen and break the screen or the glass apple won't cover it since you shouldn't have done it yourself in their mind...

I'd take it to the apple store, then if something else happens they have to worry about it...

Dang I wish i knew if taking the glass off would trigger a Warrenty sticker to be void.

+ The apple store that I go to.....I would not trust that they would get all the dust off.

I almost sure that it doesn't. I've seen lots of threads here where people get the dust out of the screen themselves, and not one has complained of a warranty sticker.

Im surprised no one has tried this on the 27 inch yet...like a video or something
