Hi,

My iPad Pro 12.9 2017 has recently developed a screen bleed visible on light backgrounds.

I use my iPad every day on the daily commute and it hasn’t been dropped or anything like that.

Does anyone know how this could have happened? It’s still under guarantee with John Lewis so will take it back but just don’t want to be without it if it has to be sent for repair.

Mine developed the same thing (also a 2017 12.9 inch iPad Pro) in the same spot. There have been some other posts about this recently in the main iPad forum. I haven’t gotten mine fixed/replaced yet but the experience from those that have taken it in to the Apple store is very positive. They replace right away.

Since I noticed it on mine I have also noticed it on display models at various stores so it may be a somewhat common issue on 2017 12.9’s. My wife has an original 2015 iPad Pro 12.9 purchased on release day and it does not have this issue.

I just noticed the light bleed tonight. I use my 2017 12.9 iPad daily for several hours and this is the first time I’ve seen it. I am very picky about my devices so I know this is a very recent thing. I found this forum by searching for the issue and see this seems to be quite prevalent. I bought mine in June 2017 with AppleCare +. I hate the idea of swapping it out and having to buy another Zagg glass screen protector.

My neighbors have two of the same model purchased a few months after mine. I’ll check them out tomorrow.

Had the 1st gen ipad 12.9 replaced due to this. The 2nd generation is starting to show the same signs and will be swapped soon under Apple care. Glue separating?
