So I have an old early 2008 27in iMac, dual core, dedicated gpu - it was quite the high end machine at the time.

5 years ago the GPU dies and at the time Apple quoted me at a couple hundred to fix. I decided to just buy a new iMac and put the other one in the attic.

So here we are - does anyone have any suggestions other than recycle the thing? Is it worth trying to sell for parts? Could I get a reasonably priced GPU to get this back up and running and use it for something?

To be honest unless you are reviving it as a fun project, I would sell it for parts.

Yea, I have no desire to try and revive it as a fun project - there'd need to be some sorta purpose for it and I just can't think of any. Will probably look at selling for parts and if no takers, recycle with Apple.
