Suggestions Are Gone

[In Utopia]

Wife is having a problem with her 5s.
Some how the auto suggestion feature that gives 3 suggestions on the next word when composing has disappeared. It looks like it might be there, but it now shows up like it's been shrunk down to a small gray line with a light spot in the middle.
I've looked at all her settings, but can't find any way to make it appear again.

Always a good idea to let people know how you solved your issue.

In this case, the suggestion bar can be collapsed/expanded by sliding down/up.
