Suggestions for a new camera.

I currently have a FinePix A210 (3.2mp), I use my camera for the following things:

- Snapshots
- Band photos/Movement
- Photos for use in projects (posters etc)

I'm starting a Graphic Design course in September so I need a higher res camera - 6-8mp?

I have around £200ish to spend, so any suggestions?

I have just gotten this Canon Powershot SD700is http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=13019 it is amazing! It is the only non digital slr by canon to have image stabilization (helps with sharp pics) and this is my second canon they are just awesome!

That camera looks great! Does it have a big shutter lag? that was my biggest problem with my SD400 digital elph.

What kind of memory card does your current one take? If your budget is only £200, I'd guess you don't want to fork out another £30 on cards?

If it's xD, then consider looking at the Fuji F10/11 - they were going for £199 at Christmas and likely lower now that the F30 is out. Great pics in lowlight, 6MP and amazing battery life. Screen is slightly low res though

The Nikon D2x is pretty good i guees...I say go with that.

The Canon Rebel XT is my choice, if you want a more professional model spend a few more bucks and get the 20D.
