I use iCloud for syncing and short-term backups in the Photos app. I move all my photos and videos to an external hard drive for archiving yearly. In previous years, I would allow the Photos app for macOS auto sync and download all original files to a library on an external drive. I’ve been moving away from macOS and primarily use iPadOS and iOS... but there doesn’t seem to be a simple way to move all of my iCloud media to an external drive. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Ideally, I would like to be able to access my entire media archive online, as I know hard drives are prone to failure. Granted, I could have multiple backups. I find that I don’t really need to access old content very often, so I’m not sure the cost of online storage would really justify the convenience.
