Suggestions for my iPod Repair website, iPodMechanic.com

Hey Mac community,

Just wanted to get some feedback on my newly launched website;

It offers repairs on LCDs, Hard Drives, Batteries...and much more. I've got a far better price than iPodRepair.com and ipodmods.com. I also itemize everything so people know what they will pay for a specific repair. I'm advertising on google currently, if anyone knows about Adwords, you know how expensive it gets. Right now I'm paying 15+ dollars per day for maybe 25 clicks. I have 4 customers in just 2 days though, not too bad for a start.

Does anyone have any suggestions with what I should do to the website to grab more customers? Maybe some ideas on where to advertise and get customers?

For generating business, you could probably try an work out an advertising deal with iPod specific sites and offer commissions only on business, not clickthroughs. Of course your site would need to track where users came from and if it generated a "sale."

As far as increasing your search engine results, use meta tags efficiently and work with other sites to get links pointing to you as the number of links factors into some search engine algorithms.

Honestly, seems like a VERY good idea given the fact that Apple only sold 4+ million in the 4th quarter.

Thanks for your input, I'll talk to you sometime in the future I'm sure.

I built the website and did all the graphics so I should probably know what a Meta tag is but I don't...

Care to share? Also what iPod-specific sites do you recommend, iPod Lounge, or something else? Would they put a banner up that I design?

For info on META tags, start here. Look specifically at the description and keywords tags.

As far as iPod site. iPod Lounge is probably a good start. To get them to post your banner, I am sure you will have to negotiate payment/commision with them and setup an ad contract. Same is true of any other site, as well.

Reputable iPhone/iPod repair hard to find

Wow, seems like you can't trust anyone in the iPhone/iPod repair business today. I sent my iPhone to a company called iPodrepair.com but they have a bunch of websites all filtering into their repair site, names like pdasmart.com, ipaqparts.com, ipaqrepair.com, ipodrepair.com, ipodparts.com, etc... Their real name is Optimistic Enterprises in Cedar Park, TX. They promise to return calls and you hear nothing. I found out after the fact they have an "F" rating with the BBB. Next time I'll check the BBB first. I recommend everyone here do the same to protect your self from false advertising with which ever online company you think of using.
