Just in case anyone missed it, the Summer sale on Steam began around 2pm Thursday afternoon and will continue for a week. Tons of stuff on sale for all your Bootcamp gaming needs.

Hopefully we will see some Mac titles on sale as well in the coming days...

So far I've snatched up;
Solar 2 - okay. I was expecting more considering it's priced alongside the following full-fat games;
Jamestown - quite very good! Reminds me an awful lot of Pop n Twinbee from the SNES. And best of all it's a local co-op which is a huge plus for me.
Capsized - visually stunning, fun Turrican-esque game. I've only played a few minutes in though.
Who's That Flying?! - is okay. At no point are controllers explained so you have to guess what buttons do.

Eyeing up both Bit Trip games and that Item Shop Tale (gord knows I wouldn't spell that name properly), but I'm not sure I'd like them.

Damn these sales!

i got oblivion deluxe edition and bioshock 2. all for under 30 bucks. oblivion came with all the dlc. I wanted to find out just how good oblivion is because i've heard rave things about it and it sounds cool. i got bioshock 2 because it was cheap and i played the first one.

EDIT: also got the whole stalker series and the far cry series. great deals here.

Was tempted to get one of the bit.trip games when they were on sale, but I found out today they need Pixel Shader 3.0. Lucky I didn't then. The bad thing about these sales is that I have OS X and Parallels, so I can't run all the games I'd like to buy :\

They're not too great, actually. I heard rave reviews about them but I'm really not enjoying them. Bleh.

Fallout New Vegas DLC GET!

COD 4 Modern Warfare is $10 today.

Not sure if I should get it for online play.

Exactly the question I'm pondering. I played MW2's single player and found it incredibly dull, more linear than DNF and with virtually no redeeming qualities. But everyone says it's all about the multiplayer. What makes it so good?

I prefer Battlefield 2 BC over CoD. Multiplayer is all about playing against people, instead of scripted events and AI bots.

To be fair MW2 and BLOPS are the worst in the modern style CoD games. The original Modern Warfare is quite good (still linear and scripted though). The multiplayer is extremely balanced and good fun though.

Agreed. MW2 and BLOPS are horrendous. Call of Duty is not known for having a good single player anyways; it shines in multiplayer. Well, the first COD did have a decent story, but that's probably more because it was one of the first groundbreaking FPS shooters around.

So far I got Torchlight for $2.99 on Steam. I had a physical copy of it before, but it was lost during a move :(. Not amazing, but it's an excellent casual game.

I really wanna pick up Left 4 Dead or Left 4 Dead 2, but I refuse to pay anything over $10. Guess I'll keep waiting; it's bound to reach that magical price point in the near future.

If not the last day of this sale, I'd speculate that a Christmas sale will definitely include the L4D games.

I didn't see it on the other site I looked at . Is steampowered (the link above) the only site? And I assume it is only a digital copy.

edit, just found the team fortress site.

Valve games (Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, Half Life etc), are ONLY on Steam, there is no other way to get them.

Only just started actively using Steam and, up until a couple days ago, only had Portal, Team Fortress 2 and Eets (because they were free). This sale has been excellent - I have purchase quite a few games and plan to purchase at least a few more.

Bully: Scholarship Edition Had always wanted to play this, but I could never find it for less than $20. When it went on sale for $3.74 I had to have it. Unfortunately, it is Windows-only and my only Windows machine is unable to run it. I am going to try to set up a Boot Camp, but I don't have anything except XP, not sure if I won't just wait until I can afford to buy a copy of Windows 7. Still, though, it was a good deal and I'm not all that unhappy. :p

Left 4 Dead 2 I only recent bought the first game for the XBOX 360 and really enjoyed it. I had been debating purchasing this all week at the $14 price, but I waited it out and it went on for $5 today. Very impressed with this buy.

Garry's Mod Have always wanted to play around with this and only a couple weeks ago I had it in my cart, ready to purchase, at $10. Good thing I waited, $2.40 is excellent.

Machinarium Loved the online demo, and I know people who have paid insane prices for it. None of them believed it was $3.40 when I mentioned it to them after buying it today.

VVVVVV Probably the most inventive and well-scored game I have played in a long time. Incredibly appealing to gamers who want nostalgia, a fun play-mechanic (no jumping, just gravity switching) and a great soundtrack. Definitely worth the $2.40, if not more.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles The only other Windows-only game I got. I never was into Sonic as a kid, but I keep hearing that this was the best Sonic game for Genesis. Figured I'd give it a try for only $3.34. Also debating on getting Sonic Adventure DX - $6.02 right now, definitely will get it if it goes down.

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Both episodes for $1.80? Can't complain.
