Summerboard status bar

Can someone tell me what the "Theme Status Bar" does in Summerboard? I've turned it on/off and I don't see any difference

I'm on 1.1.4

I've been doing some research, I think changed the top status bar on the iPhone from opaque to solid in an older version of Summerboard.

Can anyone confirm?
