so I really wanted to go all black and white and the only theme I've found so far is louie mantias black theme. Problem is when I install it through the installer it doesn't show up in my list of themes. A couple other themes do t show up for some reason either. All else runs great. Running 1.1.4 all update. Jailbroken with ziphone with no probs. Any help or anyone else have similar problems? Thanks!

Not only some themes are missing....I can't change the look of the battery while charging

Download 1.1.4 SummerBoard patch from Installer, people.

I did install the patch first as recommended by iSpazio, because without it you would not be able to install summerboard at all on 1.1.4. But I still cannot get any thems that I download to show up in the app. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything, and same result.

I discovered the solution to this issue earlier today. You need to use the Smb Themes Fix (from the 1.1.3 tweaks section, I believe) so it sets up a link from /var/rot to /var/mobile. Once I did that, it immediately saw all the themes I'd downloaded.

I don't know if anyone has seen this video from ipodtouchmaster.com or not.

How to Get SummerBoard to work in 1.1.3 on iPod Touch+iPhone

I just finished jailbreaking my 16gig iPod Touch to 1.1.4 from his videos, and have just run into the same problem everyone else was having with the SummerBoard themes showing up in the list, but not actually displaying anything. Now even though this video is for a 1.1.3 jailbroken firmware, this actually worked on mine without having to download any of the summerboard fixes from Installer. If you know how to run an OpenSSH program, I use WinSCP, you have to change the permissions under:

Systems/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app

Then when you get there, you have to select all of the files NOT in folders, highlight EVERYTHING, NOT in a folder. Then right click, and go into properties. The permission code is 755, you will see a little box where you can type this in. click ok, and it will do it's thing, then restart. Check out the vids, I found them helpful.

SummerBoard Theme Fix!

I think I figured out the solution for those of us who STILL couldn't get it to work. :D

Follow these steps exactly!
Note: I used Transmit to SFTP to my iPhone
- Login: root
- Password: alpine

1. Uninstall BOTH "1.3/4 Theme Fix" and/or "smb Themes Fix" if they're already on your phone.
2. Install or Reinstall Summerboard.
3. Install "smb Themes Fix".
4. SFTP to your iPhone and navigate to -> "/private/var/mobile/Library".
5. Select the "SummerBoard" folder and use 'Get Info' to view its permissions.
6. Set the permissions for the "SummerBoard" folder to 755.
7. Click "Apply to enclosed items..."
8. Exit the Installer app and restart your iPhone.

Now hopefully you can start enjoying your themes!

The problem (at least for me) seemed to be that I wasn't changing the permissions where I needed to. Everyone kept saying to change the "Themes" folder, etc. but it was changing the "SummerBoard" folder (and all its contents) which seemed to finally work.
