I was sitting a few hours ago writing on my brand new Alu iMac. The beautiful sun was shining through the window and for about 5 minutes it cast it's light over the iMac screen. Suddenly a black stain the size of a fist, was created in the lower left corner on the screen!!!!! As if it was getting a serious sunburn!
I immediatly place myself in front of the screen to block the rays and closed the curtains as fast as I could. The stain slowly started fading into light blue. I turned off the iMac for an hour and now it seems as if this stain is gone.
So.... What happened here?
I have an iMac g5, powerbook g4 and old ibook g3 that have all been exposed to sunshine but never have I seen anything like this. Could my screen in the alumac now be permanently damaged?
I have had serious issues with the Alu 24" iMac line (graphic and audio) and received my third replacement from apple a few days ago. I was thinking of keeping this one but after this sunburning thing I am thinking maybe it's now damaged?
Secondly, what kind of screen fries by 5 min of sunlight? Could it be the glasspanel that is working as an oven for the iMac????
