Super boggy YouTube app. Anyone?

This issue has plagued me for quite a while.

To keep it short, when watching YouTube video, it will have a chance to not respond any input, even home button input. Only power button and volume button works. The video will continue to play as usual though.

When trying to watch video in full screen, there is a very high chance that app is frozen, cannot unpause video, cannot quit full screen mode, after quitting full screen mode, the interface goes haywire. Sometimes the full screen mode will be activated in portrait mode, and cannot get out without force quitting the app.

Is there anyone encountering such issue?

Power cycle the device and try again. Ensure you have the latest version of the YouTube app. If the power cycle doesn't change behavior, then do a reset by holding power and home button until the phone restarts.

Not those issues, but in iOS 10 I lose control of the video I've sent to my Chromecast from YouTube...can't stop it or change the volume. I have to stop casting completely or start a different video to get the one I'm watching to stop.

I had my iPhone 8 Plus freeze up a couple times while watching videos on the YouTube app to the point where the display would black out and the only way to get past it was to reset the phone.

Yeah I get this all the time on my 6s+, only way to fix it was to hold home and lock until it restarts. I sometimes get it in other apps too, including music, but usually just YouTube! Hopefully there'll be an update soon.

I upgraded from a 6S to an 8+ and YouTube is still a piece of junk. Must be the app and not the phone.

Auto-rotation stops working.

The sound will play but the video will freeze on a frame, becomes unresponsive to any buttons or screen touches. Then you have to put the phone to sleep and close out the app to fix it

Malwarebytes cured my problem with frozen YouTube videos.

iPhone X running latest YouTube app (with YouTube Red), running 11.3b5 (15E5211a), it runs fine. Sometimes, when I'm in the app in landscape mode, and I exit the app, move the phone to portrait mode to do other things, then go back into YouTube while still holding the phone in portrait mode the app won't realize my orientation has changed and will stay in landscape mode -- rotation the phone to landscape for a couple of seconds then re-rotating back to portrait fixes it.

That's the worst thing I've experienced with YouTube, though. Sorry. :-/

I have the IPA for YouTube 10.11.11546, it still works in iOS 11.3b5.

The only issue I have is when going fullscreen the audio sometimes go out of sync but I guess it's still better than a outright freeze or crash.

Strange. The only problem I had with youtube was the battery draining way faster than other video apps, but since maybe last november, its been almost fixed. (the battery still drain quicker than other videos apps but now its "acceptable")

But other than that, the youtube app always worked great for me.
