Hi,
I think my Superdrive is not so super and is not working. It can read CD/DVD's but cannot write. I have tried 3 different types of media, lowered the writing speeds and run a lens cleaner through it. Every time I burn I get Hardware Errors and all sorts of non English errors.
I have got Applecare so not really worried but should I take it to the Apple Store where I bought it from or will they just look at it and send it off themselves or will they give me a replacement iMac?
If it does get sent off I want to wipe my machine, just don't the idea of people rummaging through my files. If I do a Time Machine backup and when my iMac comes back can I just do a restore and it will be back as it was?
Thanks
Edit: Its a 24" iMac 3.06Ghz - added my own 2GB to make it 4GB
