Superdrive Firmware update problems

I went ahead and flashed the new firmware for my superdrive last week, followed all of the instructions and didn't notice a problem until my computer detects every single burned cd I own as blank. I know there is data on those discs as they worked before, and work on my other machine.

Does anyone have similar problems? solutions? anything?

Some info on your system would be helpful, don't you think? Assuming that you have a MB or MBP, Apple pulled the firmware update last week due to failures of the optical drive.
