Hi, I hope some of you can give me some tips. I have a PowerBookG4 Laptop with Superdrive. When I push in the CD, I feel it bounce back. The drive won't take it in. I didn't do anything and this is a surprise.

A few months ago, when I took in my Laptop for hard drive repair, I noticed that the case was tightened with a little bump where the cd drive is. But I thought it was nothing. As I noticed a little change in the CD sound going into the drive, I thought it was okay.

Now, my CD Drive won't take in the CD. The drive won't even move.

Please please help, what should I do? Should I bring it into a repair centre?

REVISION: I searched forums and found someone with the same experience. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/209644/

I tried shutting down my system. I pressed Power. Heard Loud Popping Noise. System loaded. I tried pushing CD in with fingers crossed. And Success!

I'd love to there this solution.
My PB just started to suffer from this problem.
I just met somebody who has the same problem on their PB.

I was planning on replaceing it, but unless there are other fixes.

G'luck and try restarting it a few times.
Tell me how it goes!
