Does anyone have any experience replacing parts of a MBP?

How much time and effort would it take for the Mac "Experts" to swap out my SuperDrive and put it in a new one, or would this be done out of a local Apple store?

Aside from the noise, lifting my laptop totally kills the CD function.

If you really want to know how to do it, check out this iFixit Guide. It shouldn't take a professional more than half an hour - forty five minutes at the most. :)

Maybe this is also (in part) a software issue - what else in OS X (packaged software) is capable of playing a DVD?

I also have RealPlayer 10 but I can't figure out how to get it to run a DVD.
