SuperDrive malfunction » Replacement options?

Does anyone have any experience replacing parts of a MBP?

How much time and effort would it take for the Mac "Experts" to swap out my SuperDrive and put it in a new one, or would this be done out of a local Apple store?

Aside from the noise, lifting my laptop totally kills the CD function.

Maybe this is also (in part) a software issue - what else in OS X (packaged software) is capable of playing a DVD?

I also have RealPlayer 10 but I can't figure out how to get it to run a DVD.

OSX comes with DVD Player which is a DVD player.
