I have last revision imac.. g5 2.0ghz superdrive 20 inch.. Im an idiot lol and i cant remember if the burner is dual layer.. If so..Can i buy dual layer media, and will i be able to burn onto it with my other computers, that are only single layer? Also, how can i copy dvds using the dual layer.. Is there any one click solution like there is on windows, (dvd x copy)

I'm pretty sure you have a double-layer drive in your iMac. You can write to double-layer media with it, and can read that same media in most DVD drives. However, I have no idea whether you can write to double-layer media with a single-layer drive (you would be limited to 4.4 GB, of course).

And also, if you have a CD/DVD in the drive, open Disk Utility and choose the root listing of the mounted disk (the one that includes the manufacturer's name of your optical drive). At the bottom of the window you will see the drive's "capabilities" listed. Huzzah! GUIfied! :D

ok good.. but if i buy dual layer disks.. like a big spindle.. will i be able to use them on my single layer drive.. and just be able to burn the normal 4.7gb?
