Support for 1600 RAM

Hi all, I was thinking about getting these for my Mini. Latest rev, low end, and a Sammy SSD 830 64GB for OSes.

I read in another thread that the performance of these both was unbelievable, but I wondered about the RAM sticks, they're 1600, and doesn't the Mini support a max of 1333? How would these (rather expensive) sticks improve the minis performance over, say, Crucial's 50 bucks 8GB 1333 sticks?

Apple just uses 1333MHz sticks. The processor itself supports 1066, 1333, 1600, and 1866 MHz RAM. You wont notice the difference between 1333 and 1600 when using your mac mini, however because the GPU (Intel 3000) uses the system memory, quicker memory (RAM) will result in higher graphics performance. Increase should be about 5% according to people who have tested it.
The biggest noticeable performance difference though is just upgrading to 8GB in general.

So, would I notice any speed difference from 1333 to 1866? I understand that the benefits/price ratio might not be the best, but hey, I'm a geek. Also, would I have any problem installing the Samsung 830 in the mini? It's 7mm thick.

Well I found a forum where someone reported 5-9% increase in the HD 3000's performance going from 1333 to 1866 (in some windows laptop) I don't think there should be a difference though between mac minis HD 3000 one in a windows laptop . So whatever suits you best, money or marginal increase in performance
Em im not sure about the Samsung 830, I don't know the drive and never heard of anyone install a drive under 9.5mm in the mini. But i cant think of a reason for it not working, its just smaller thats all, you might need to make yourself something so that it fits snuggly into the spot which is made for a 9.5mm drive.

I don't think that a 7mm SSD is going any to be a problem in the mini, it just gives the second drive more space. I have a Samsung 470 SSD in my macbook pro and its great . When i get my mini i will put a Samsung 830 SSD 64gb in it. No doubt.

A few of us on this forum are currently using Kingston Hyper X 1866MHz RAM in our 2011 Mac Mini's. There is definitely a performance increase anywhere between 5 - 20% based on application/usage. It's safe to say you will get 5% performance increase across the board. The link below is for a good detailed review:
