I recently purchased an Apple iTV and am trying to get it to work with my HDMI Automatic Switch (IOGEAR model # GHDMIAS4). The problem I'm having is the switch does not "switch" to the iTV automatically. Instead, I must manually make the "switch" myself. I contacted IOGEAR and they stated this is a known problem. To fix it they said try and reboot the iTV. Of course, that did not work (I strongly suspect the IOGEAR technician was running windows 3.1 withOUT the TCP/IP stack installed :D )

Anyway, has anyone run into this problem? I'm holding off calling up support again until the latest update is distributed to the iTV.

Thanks in advance

I had the same issue with a component video switch trying to automatically switch between AppleTV and a DVR/cable box. While I don't know for sure, but after some discussion with others, it appears the issue may be that the AppleTV doesn't ever totally power down and may be sending a signal so the switch doesn't know to switch. As I said, I don't know this for sure, but that was the best idea we could come up with.
