Supported Multifunction Laser Printer

I'm looking for a multifunction laser printer for home use which will work with my M1 Mac Mini. My existing Samsung SCX-4623FW printer isn't supported - although I can print to it using a generic HP Laserjet PCL 4/5 driver. The print quality is not very good though.

The problem is that few printers support macOS 11. I've found the Xerox B205 is fully supported, but is sold out everywhere here in the UK.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have the HP Color LaserJet Pro MPF M277dw and it works fine with the built in AirPrint driver. HP has a Nov 2020 "Easy Start" driver on its website. I have not installed their driver set, nor do I use it for anything beyond printing, however Image Capture does recognize it & will scan a document.

I am using a Brother MFC-L2750DW with no problems. There is a firmware update that came out with Big Sur but no issues with printing, or scanning. I also use an Epson XP-7100 for photos with not issue as well. This is with a M1 Mac Mini.

I use a Brother laser printer as well. Setting it up was as simple as finding it on my network and letting Mac OS install the drivers. I also have an HP inkjet for things that need color printing, and it also installed without any issue.

I've got the same printer. I am using a 2018 Macbook Pro 13 with MacOS Big Sur. This is what worked for me. 1. Download the HP universal Driver. 2. Open the MAC_ICDM folder and install the ICDM.pkg. 3. Open the MAC_Printer and install the Printer Driver.pkg 4. Go through the preferences>printer & scanner> "+" > Select Software under the "Use:" drop down. 5. Select Samsung M2060. The M2060 printer driver worked for my SCX-4623fw. ?‍♂️

+1 on the Brother as well. I've been using the HL-3180CDW since MacOS Sierra without any problems, and that was even with upgrading from a HL-L2380DW series printer.

Both are PSC printers with the difference being that the HL-3180CDW is color. Both work either with a dedicated driver from Brother or via AirPrint/Bonjour. Best printers I've ever had.

I have this printer/scanner too and find it perfect for our requirements. The main reason I wanted a colour laser printer was because we don't print that often and we found that ink cartridges kept drying up in our old inkjet. I like the scan to USB or use Image Capture to scan wirelessly. It works on my MacBook Air, Mac mini, PC's, iPhones and iPads without any drivers - well except the ones that get installed by the OS.

I'd highly recommend this printer if you can find one for a decent price. The only thing I would say is the initial setup is easier done by plugging in via USB and transferring the WiFi settings over rather than doing it on the tiny touchscreen which is a major effort in patience.

It will take take some setup but you should be able to make a printer server using linux on a raspberry pi or a spare computer that can present your printer as a standard AirPrint device.

Hi - I have the exact same AIO and have found it great too, but I've just come across a prob with it, in regards to wirelessly scanning on my 2020 Mac Air though.

When I 'Open Scanner' from the Printer tab in System Prefs, the scanner kicks into life and presents the Overview....but it's blank! The scanner bed has the document in place, I've unticked 'Use Custom Size' and selected A4...but still nothing appears. I've noticed a tiny 'marching ants' selection box that I can move about, but can't alter the size of at all...

Bit stumped now tbh...what procedure do you use to scan?
