Say that 10.11.2 is out so I downloaded it. However, its showing 10.11.1 in "About My Mac" instead. What gives. Anyone else ?

Fully. Went smoothly as well. Going to the download site just a while ago, and it showed 2 available downloads, one of which was El Capitan again but this time less than 2 gb opposed to the more hefty first download I did. Now it shows 10.11.2. Go figure

There was a recovery system update also and I wonder if that was all you installed and not the 10.11.2 update?

You can ry doing the combo update from this link and bypass the App Store.

I updated 10.11.2 using the App Store, not Update site, that showed over 6 GB, but at first it was not on the Update site, just the App Store. I actually downloaded twice, but both showed it was 10.11.1 not 10.11.2.

I went to the Update site later on and finally it did show 10.11.2 plus recovery, and downloaded both updates. Just can't understand that the app store was the wrong version though it showed that it was the new one. Can't figure that one out.

You updated the OS X installer, not your OS X installation.

The one above from the app store says 10.11.2 but it showed after installing it to be 10.11.1 which was odd. Did this twice. Unknown if they fixed yet. Unless there was a misprint

Your attached pictures show the full El Capitan installer at 6.20 Gb. The delta update from 10.11.1 to 10.11.2 is a 2 Gb update shown in the App Store Updates section. If you downloaded the full El Capitan installer at 6.20 Gb it should automatically launch but sometimes it does not. Check in your Applications folder for the full El Capitan installer app named "Install OS X El Capitan" (the size will be 6.20 Gb). If the file is there then you can do the full install by launching the Install OS X El Capitan app (which will automatically delete itself after it is run) or install the 2 Gb delta update from 10.11.1 to 10.11.2 from the in the App Store Updates section.
