Fair play your happy with your purchase, I'm happy with mine.

I am not sure how nice it would be to have "Qaud".

As I said in other posts, I have a Quad Core computer, I am typing on it right now. It is A LOT faster, a lot better looking, has a bigger screen, and was cheaper than that computer you posted. Is it a touch screen? No, I don't want a touch screen, I can't think of any good use I would get out of that.

Having computers based on their purpose is a choice. I wanted a fast gaming rig, so I built one, and it will annihilate that little Dell, and its a year old. No, its not an all in one, but that wasnt what I wanted.

My fiance had a Dell XPS M1710 for 4 years, we were very happy with it, its starting to lock up a lot, so I just ordered her an iMac 24" 4850, loaded, it actually just got delivered and I am installing stuff right now.

Its a better computer for her, and I wanted a 24" nice screen and an amazing OS. I have been a Windows guy forever until I got my Mac Mini, and started to see what the big deal was. OS X on that Mac Mini hardware was handling more open applications than Windows systems of much higher spec. Unix is an amazing foundation.

So buy what you want and be happy about it, but that computer is not even comparable to an iMac in A LOT of ways, and is better in some others.

Its capitalism, and for someone saying Steve Jobs doesn't give us much choice, you should watch what you say when you brag about ordering a computer with limited hardware options and only comes in one screen size.

What's a "Qaud"? Some kind of Windows thing?

My Bad Quad but since Uncle Steve doesn't think you need one it really doesn't matter how you spell it it wont be seen in Mac anytime soon :D

I am a Mac Owner also so no fight here just saying its time for Uncle Steve to step aside so Mac users can finally have a larger variety to choose from that's all. My original post is all about making a wider variety of choice.

Actually Dell has a very nice line up of all in ones if you included this latest model with the XPS ONE 20" and 24" something for every price range.

http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/desktop-xps-a2420?c=us&cs=19&l=en&ref=dthp&s=dhs

If you included the new Studio 19 all in one that makes eight different configurations with the XPS ONE for Dell customers looking to purchase an all in one unit starting at only $699

Except for the Mac Pro?

And you don't NEED one. You are a very dense individual who obviously knows little about computers. Very few applications make use of dual core effectively, let alone quad core. We are only now starting to push dual core to its boundaries in even moderate chips. A lot more of a computer performance is in its architecture, its cache size, etc. In overall performance, Mac's do just fine, and a 3.06 GHz iMac will slaughter a 2.66GHz Q6600 in all but a very small number of applications, such as video rendering apps that can actually use all four cores. I understand there are faster quad cores, I am just making a point that quad core is not everything, and you are a worthless troll.

If you want more, just build a Hackintosh, or get a Mac Pro that will run circles around most Dell systems (although at a steep price, I understand).

But, you are just talking about choice, not price.

And from your original post, you seem to own a new Dell, and was most definitely not just about choice, it seemed a hell of a lot like trolling.

Ugh, I just read through a few of your other posts, your intentions and mindset are pretty obvious, not going to waste any time on you. You make the rest of us Windows users look bad.

You just did.... what kind of losers would go back and analyze my old post? gee get a life!

I am dual user and I own both platforms no troll here just being real, I am not a fan boy of either platform. I love the way that every post here on MR is dissected word for word by the resident MR clinical Psychologist to get at the root meaning of the posters inner thoughts.

Lighten up guys gee!

The problem I have is why there wasn't even an option for a quad-core.

And I don't see quad-core iMacs until 2011.

Personally I'm not impressed, but if the only spec you are looking at is processor then gratz.

Of course your not his holiness SJ and his flock did not produce it so why should you be? :) we all know that nothing gets approved by the faithful MR members unless it has been blessed by his holiness. :D

Long live the dictator who is due back in June to continue his rein and lead his flock to the promise land :):p

The doors to his office on the Apple campus should look like the Papal balcony in the Vatican City. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:cool:

What shame that Uncle Steve still has you guys right where he wants you

And the other Uncle Steve (Sweaty Ballmer) has you right where he wants you.

Enjoy the Dell/Windows experience. If you can.

Troll Different.

Another troll. sheesh. can't spell either.

most can't

all that time in dim lighting under bridges

i agree with prior posters, constantly whining about needing Quad Cores is ridiculous. Yes, I do have a Mac Pro, and yes, i do make use of all 8 cores at times, but did I need it? probably not for what i do as it's mostly CS usage, not video rendering

I purchased it because I wanted more than 2 monitors and I could afford it, but unless you're using the computer for very intensive video rendering I doubt you're going to see much of a benefit, especially with some of the junk parts in that Dell

Also, that screen's max resolution is junk from what I understand

And lastly, stop bitching about Steve stopping you from having a Quad core, they just AREN'T available in a mobile platform that would work in the IMac as it does NOT use desktop parts

these posts are getting old

regardless, enjoy your computer, and please use it to log onto www.dellrumors.com and troll there
