Man....the SP2 keeps looking better and better!
Yep, if I was shopping for a laptop / tablet hybrid, it would be the Surface Pro 2. But I also happen to like Windows 8.1 and enjoy the touch screen elements.
I am really glad to see Microsoft pushing forward on the Pro.
I played around with one at BestBuy the other day...it was extremely fast and responsive. I was impressed....But for me to buy one it would need improved battery life (done) and a lower price point. Its just too expensive right now to justify the cost...
The thing is, most ultrabooks are priced similarly and do not offer the tablet feature. The ones that do...just do not do it well enough.
Agree with you on that point.....it seems with hybrids like the SP2 it gets stuck in the middle. Not being a great enough tablet to replace my iPad and not being a great enough laptop to replace a laptop either. Then the price point is a little high as well. I think it is a great product and certainly headed in the right direction.
I like the SP2, don't get me wrong, but Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 has a benefactor of a dedicated keyboard, better specs, similar price and nearly everything the SP2 can do, except for the pen Surface includes.
Agreed with those great points about the Yoga.....I almost got one. But for me....when I fold it into a tablet...they keyboard needs to be hidden somehow. The keys are still there on the other side. I hate feeling them and worry about them getting damaged if I set it down.
Disregard my better specs comment. Saw a review video and they're apparently both the same at the same $1000 price point. Reading more into the Surface's touch stylus and while the Y2P has the 360° rotation, the keyboard may "get in the way". Also love Microsoft's soft touch feel in the SP2. Extra battery life with the update is making my choice even harder. Debating hard against the rMBP and SP2. Don't know if I could use a 10.6" tablet as a primary laptop.
Good update, but not enough to convince me to drop $1K on SP2.
See that right there are my thoughts too.....that is a small screen to have as your primary machine.....
