Surface Pro - Battery life?

Hey folks,

I need a new tablet! I've been eying the Surface pros, been an iPad user for the last few years. I'm curious about battery life? How does it stack up in real world usage? I"m aware there are different configurations, but I'm under the impression the battery is the same...?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Been using the SP4 for a while, and get about 7-8 hrs before I need to charge .. Usually gets me thru the day, but I still always carry an extra charger in the bag.

I have the custom build ( i5 16GB 512 SSD )

The only media consumption on the SP is youtube/Netflix and it's just fine. I don't game on it either. This is simply a mobile workstation solution for my work.
