So I completed the upgrade to 2GB ram and 320GB hdd to my 09 Mac Mini. Everything went perfect, no scratches to the case or underside plastic or anything. But i did forget one little tiny thing and I am wondering how bad it would be if I just left it alone (at least till i get my 4GB kit to upgrade the ram again). After taking out the old hdd I left the little silver pads on the old drive and forgot to move them to the new drive. I know from the OWC video (which is what I followed for this project) those are anti-static pads, but my question is am I totally screwed without them or are they not really necessary?
BTW for those curious I used a pizza cutter and butter knife to open the case since I didn't have a thin enough putty knife.
