Swipe left, down whatever the **** Apple wants us to do.... Enter in a contact name, STILL doesn't work!!!

Got to love Apple...

AND

Before Apple start forcing Apple music on us.
"Siri, play Van Halen"

Siri "Here is Van Halen from your music"

Now, Same question
"here are popular songs from Van Halen".

So now I have to specify to play **** from MY phone.. Even with every music option turned to either OFF or not subscribed.

What exactly is happening with the search? I use it all the the time to search for contacts and it works great for me.

Simple. Contacts don't come up. They barely work, period.

I enter in a contacts name (on ANY os version) and they sometimes come up.

I enter a songs names, doesn't show up. i start deleting the song and boom it shows up.

Contacts sometimes comes up. But never all of the ones that should and very seldom works. How can a release OS be so buggy?

As of this point mine seems to be working as intended. All contacts pop up with search and if I ask to play music it will you my collection and if it's not in my collection it ask me "I don't see that in you collection, would you like to play Van Halen radio?"

This may sound like a stupid question... But are contacts turned on in spotlight search?

Mine is set to on and for the most part it doesn't show results at all. If it does, it doesn't show all results that it should and spotlight no longer searches the contact notes.

I don't know why yours is doing that where mine runs as expected... Not sure where the differences are.

That's certainly not normal. Occasionally it won't pull up contacts as the top hit, very specifically for my family which I find weirdest of all. lol. But 95% of the time, it works fine. When I ask Siri to play music, it plays music I ask it to play.

Have you contacted Apple with this issue? Maybe there's something they can look into. I would also perhaps try to reset all network settings. I have found that clears glitchy stuff up sometimes. Turn Siri off/on to reset your token? If quick fixes you can try yourself don't work. Definitely call Apple. They'd be able to help you more than we can on this board. Hope you get it fixed! it's a great feature.

Agreed.

OP, have you tried going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings? This will force the phone to re-index everything in spotlight and could solve your issue.
